In accordance with the requirements of the "Outline of the 14th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development of Longkou City and the Long-Term Goals for 2035", the "Implementation Plan for Innovation and Breakthrough Action to Optimize the Business Environment of Longkou City", and other documents, the Yantai Longkou Maritime Affairs Office has taken practical measures to provide "service-style" inspections for the LNG liner "Ruineng 8", ensuring that the ship has one flight per week, carrying approximately 80-150 40-foot tanks per voyage, and ensuring a natural gas supply of more than 2.7 million cubic meters, providing strong guarantees for the stable supply of natural gas in East China this winter.
On December 19, 2020, for the first time, 40 LNG tank containers were transported from Hibiki Beach, Japan to Longkou Port, China, by container ship, marking the successful opening of LNG tank container business at Longkou Port. On April 8, 2021, the Chinese ship "Fanzhou 6" carrying 204 LNG tank containers safely berthed at Longkou Port's berth No. 14, marking that Longkou Port has become the first port in domestic and foreign trade to successfully carry out the business of transporting LNG mobile tank containers on a whole ship. On October 14, 2021, Longkou Port welcomed the second whole ship carrying LNG tank container ship "Ruineng 8" in the jurisdiction, and the ship plans to make a round trip every week, ensuring a natural gas supply of more than 2.7 million cubic meters per week, with a cargo value of nearly 10 million yuan. The successful opening of this liner not only means that Longkou Port's LNG tank container transportation business has entered a new stage of normalization, institutionalization and standardization, but also provides strong guarantees for Longkou City's transformation of old and new kinetic energy, winter energy security, optimization of the business environment, and marine strong city strategy.
